Who Can Use the Cromptons Flat Slide Sheets?

The Cromptons Flat Slide Sheets are specially designed to be used with hospital patients with limited mobility. The Slide Sheets enable safer patient handling and movement while helping to reduce the risk of bed-related injuries like pressure sores and bed sores. they are recommended for the following applications and industries:

Can I Re-Use the Sheets?

While these sheets are disposable, they can be used multiple times on a single patient during their stay at hospital. If lightly soiled, they may be wiped clean using a diluted chlorine-based solution or sterilisation fluid. Despite this, they are not suitable for laundering.

Low-Friction Transtex Fabric 

The Cromptons Flat Slide Sheets are specially designed using a lightweight, silicone-based material called Transtex. This fabric provides a smooth, low-friction surface layer that is coated on both sides to enable easier use when moving or turning a patient while they are in bed. 

What Size Are the Sheets?

The Cromptons Flat Slide Sheets are designed for bariatric patients, and measure 200 x 140cm.

What Does The Lilac Colour Mean?

The colour of the sheets serves more than just an aesthetic purpose. The lilac colour of these sheets means they are designed for bariatric patients. The Cromptons collection of slide sheets comes in a variety of different colours:

• Red: for single patient use. This means they can be re-used by a single person over a couple of months, but can't be laundered. 
• Blue: reusable for multiple patients. The blue sheets are designed to last over the course of a couple of years, and the are designed to be washable.
• Lilac: for bariatric patients. Available in larger sizes and specifically designed for use with bariatric patients. These sheets could be for single or multi-use, check listings for more details.

How Do I Use the Slide Sheets?

These sheets can be used in pairs to facilitate easy sliding, or alternatively, they can be folded in half. All procedures should be undertaken using the attached handles, and it is recommended that all patient manoeuvres be accomplished by sliding the patient without lifting.

Please note that for all repositioning and manual handling solutions, it is recommended to seek advice and approval from a qualified manual handling expert.
