How does a Polyester Bed Fleece relieve pressure?

Manufactured from deep pile polyester, this bed fleece helps to redistribute pressure and alleviate force on your joints and bones when sleeping or laying in bed for extended periods of time. For especially frail individuals or the elderly, pressure sores and ulcers can be a common problem, as well as general aches and discomfort from excessive downward force. Using a bed fleece works to reduce impact on peak pressure points and provide additional comfort.

What Are Pressure Sores?

Pressure sores are injuries to the tissue underneath the skin. They are primarily caused by prolonged force on the skin and are frequently found in people who are confined to a single position for a long period of time. Consistent downward pressure can cause the tissue under the skin to die due to concentrated force on peak pressure points, causing pressure sores and ulcers to form. 

How Can the Bed Fleece Help With Raynaud's Disease?

The Polyester Bed Fleece encourages blood circulation and reduces the likeliness of waking in the night from discomfort, pins and needles or numbness. Additionally, it has excellent heat retention and temperature regulating properties to keep you comfortable and to allow for a full night of deep, restful sleep.

How Can the Bed Fleece Help With Rheumatism and Arthritis?

The Bed Fleece is designed to support the body's joints and permit an ache-free night's sleep. By alleviating the need to toss and turn to get comfortable in bed, pressure is distributed away from sore joints and provides a supple and pressure absorbing surface to sleep on.

Do I Use the Bed Fleece Under or Over the Bed Sheet?

The Pressure Relief Fleece can be used either on top of the bed sheet or underneath. Using bed fleece underneath your base sheet is often the preferred choice in order to keep it cleaner between washes, however it can also be used above the base sheet, providing all the same benefits. We recommend trying both ways to find out which way feels more comfortable for you. 

Deep Pile for Exemplary Cushioning

The Polyester Bed Fleece has a thickness of approximately 2.5cm (1"), providing deep cushioning of crimped fibres to absorb and alleviate downward pressure. This allows for a plush and soft base to sleep on with  high-performing pressure relieving properties. Please note that this thickness is measured as new and may vary after use.

Machine Washable for Easy Cleaning

The Pressure Relief Polyester Fleece can be washed and dried, which makes it a hygienic option for use in care environments. This also ensures good value for money by providing an economical solution to pressure relief compared to single-use pressure relief products. The Polyester Pressure Relief Fleece can be machine washed at temperatures up to 60°C and tumbled dried at a low temperature.
