Patients who are at high/very high risk of developing pressure points must have the right sort of mattress. Without it, sores and even ulcers will develop, hindering their recovery and providing a lot of pain and discomfort for the patient.

The Acclaim Profiler Mattress is aimed for those at high risk, with supportive side-walls and a castellated foam static design to help evenly distribute pressure and weight, reducing the risk of pressure points developing.

Features of the Pressure Relief Acclaim Profiler Mattress

The Acclaim Profiler Mattress is designed with a "U" foam construction. The side-walls of the mattress have been developed to provide both stability and strength to the mattress and help to prevent it from bottoming out over time. The rest of the mattress is designed using castellated foam to help provide even pressure relief across the whole body, stopping a single point from taking the weight.

The mattress is a turning support one. By rotating the mattress from head to foot, it keeps the mattress in optimum condition for the weight remains evenly distributed without one area being under constant pressure.

The cover is designed in two parts. The base is made from a heavy duty nylon, ensuring the cover is highly durable and suitable for use in hospitals, hospices and care homes. The top is made from a two-way stretch, waterproof and vapour permeable material for hygiene purposes. The white underside allows it to blend with the bed and there is a user-friendly waterfall flap and covered zip. There is the option of having a welded finish if desired.

The mattress is designed for a profiling bed, meaning the angle can be changed without damaging the construction of the mattress.
