What Is the Purpose Of the Permaflex Mattress?
The Permaflex Plus Mattress is designed to provide effective pressure relief to bed-bound patients, or patients who are unable to frequently get out of bed, in order to prevent the development of pressure injuries.
This is achieved by aiding with evening pressure disbursement across the patient's body. The mattress is works using castellated foam, a material that has small separations in select areas to create small, independently moving sections.

Is There A Cover Included?
There is a multi-stretch PU mattress cover supplied with this pressure relief unit. The mattress features a water-resistant and vapour permeable design for maximising comfort, and managing the effects of sweat build-up. The seams of this cover are welded, with an enclosed zip included, to ensure maximum durability and reduce the risk of liquids leaking into and ruining the mattress.
Can This Mattress Be Used for Patient Transfers?
Generally foam mattresses aren't ideal for patient transfers, as they tend to be flimsier than other materials. The Permaflex Plus Mattress, however, tackles this issue by using a high-density foam formers at the sides to offer a sturdier surface for patient transfers.
How Do I Clean This Pressure-Relief Mattress?
To ensure maximum hygiene, it is important to clean the mattress and cover between uses. It is recommended that the mattress be cleaned using a moist, single-use wipe with a mild detergent and water no warmer than 40°C. The mattress can then be dried with paper towels.
The mattress cover can be removed and washed at a maximum temperature of 90°C.
