Drive Air-On-Foam Replacement Pressure Relief Mattress for the Theia and Eros Pump

Patients who have a high risk of developing pressure sores will need to be moved frequently to prevent pressure build-up, however, this can be very time consuming when done manually. Saving carers time and hassle, the Drive Air-On-Foam Replacement Pressure Relief Mattress for the Theia and Eros Pump works with a pump that automatically adjusts the mattress' pressure level on a set timer to prevent pressure sores from developing.

What's Included?

  • 1 x Pressure Relief Mattress
  • 1 x Mattress Cover

Please note that a mattress pump is not provided and must be purchased separately. If you wish to purchase the Theia or the Eros pump, they can be selected at the top of the page.

Key Features and Benefits

  • Air-on-foam cell structure provides excellent pressure relief
  • 14 alternating cells regularly change the patients position to prevent pressure sores
  • Compatible with the Theia and Eros mattress pumps
  • Interchangeable with other Drive mattresses for standardised operation
  • CPR pull tags for rapid deflation of the mattress in emergency situations
  • Transport mode for up to 8 hours - continues to provide pressure relief in power outages or during transport
  • Multi-stretch, anti-microbial cover is water resistant to protect the mattress for grime

How Does the Drive Air-On-Foam Mattress Help Prevent Pressure Sores?

When people with poor mobility lie down for too long, pressure sores can start to develop. In order to prevent this, the Drive Air-On-Air Mattress uses air cells that alternate on a cycle to shift the patients position to prevent pressure build-up. The cell cycle is automated by a pump that inflates and deflates the cells on a routine basis.

Can I Perform CPR On This Mattress?

In the event of an emergency, the Drive Air-On-Foam mattress features two CPR pull tags at the foot end of the bed. When pulled, the mattress will rapidly deflate to allow carers to perform CPR or transport the patient should they stop breathing or go into cardiac arrest.

Does the Drive Air-On-Foam Mattress Have a Cover?

Yes, the Drive Air-On-Foam Mattress features a multi-stretch cover. Waterproof and vapour permeable, this cover helps keep the mattress clean and is especially useful for incontinent patients. An anti-fungal agent is integrated into the fabric to help control microbial development.

How Do I Disinfect the Cover?

The mattress cover has a 360° zip for easy removal when cleaning. Once removed, wipe the cover using cold water and a 0.1% chlorine solution.

Why Choose the Theia and Eros Pump Range?

The Theia and Eros Pump range offers greater choice and flexibility when caring for patients who are at a higher risk of developing pressure sores. Each pump is compatible with multiple different pressure relief systems, ensuring versatile care that's streamlined through the same operation system.

Why is Standardisation Important?

When using equipment made by different manufacturers, costly or potentially harmful errors are more likely to occur. By utilising an interchangeable pump system that works with a variety of mattresses, the Theia and Eros Pump range helps standardise training and competency programs so that less mistakes are made.

Which Mattress Pump Should I Choose?

The Drive Air-On-Air Mattress is compatible with two pressure pumps, one digital and one analogue. Both of these pumps are compatible with different mattress systems to allow flexible care options. The main differences between the Theia and Eros pressure pumps are outlined below.

How Many Modes Are There?

The Drive Theia and Eros Mattress Pump each have three modes of operation. These three modes are as follows:

  • Alternating Mode: Alternates air pressure in 10 or 12 minute intervals.
  • Static Mode: Used for transporting the mattresses or when performing CPR.
  • Comfort/Pressure Mode: Allows manual adjustment of pressure level.

Are Other Mattresses Available?

There are three pressure relief mattresses available in the Drive Theia and Eros range. All of these mattresses are compatible with the Theia and Eros pumps, which helps to standardise equipment so that they all operate on the same system. Standardisation prevents the need to train staff on multiple different systems at once, which saves times and reduces the risk of error.

The three types of mattress compatible with the Theia and Eros pump include:

  • Drive Mattress Overlay: The dynamic Mattress Overlay option is positioned on top of the existing support surface to provide additional pressure redistribution.
  • Drive Air-On-Foam Mattress (This Version): An -Air On-Foam Replacement Mattress design offers pressure redistribution and is suitable for use with profiling beds.
  • Drive Air-On-Air Mattress: Air only (air-on-air) Replacement Mattresses offer benefits in a setting where individuals are at high risk of skin breakdown and require an immersive support surface.

Can This Mattress Be Used with a Profiling Bed?

The Drive Air-On-Foam Mattress can be used in conjunction with a profiling bed to make patient care easier. This mattress will work best with either of the two profiling beds listed below.
