WHO IS THE ALERTAMAT Care Home Bundle FOR?
The Alertamat Care Home Bundle is ideal for any environment where a carer may be worried about a patient's safety due to falls and wandering. It is perfect for use in residential care settings, as well as hospitals and care homes that may be caring for patients with dementia or memory issues.
How Does the Alerta Fall Prevention System Work?
Each of Alerta Mat features a pressure sensor to detect when a patient leaves their bed in order to proactively give the carer advanced warning of any wandering or fall. The moment the patient falls or leaves their bed or chair, the mat will instantly send a signal to the Wall Point Receiver, which will then sound a standalone alarm or signal an alert through the connected nurse call system. This allows the caregiver to quickly ascertain the patient's safety in a prompt fashion, limiting injuries from falls or unattended wandering.
Which Reciever Option Should I Choose?
The Wall Point Receiver can be used either as part of a nurse call system, or as a standalone alert system with any Alerta wireless product. For more information about each option, please see below.
- As Part of Nurse Call System: This is ideal for care homes and hospitals. Select your desired nurse call connection type using the drop-down menu above.
- Standalone System: This is ideal for residential care. To use this item as part of a standalone alarm system, select the No Nurse Call Connection option from the drop-down above.
How Do I Use the Wireless Receiver As a Standalone System?
For residential care settings or situations in which nurse call systems are not present, the Alerta Wireless Receiver will work conveniently as a standalone system. When an alert is triggered from a connected Alerta wireless device, the signal will be sent directly to the receiver where an alarm will sound. This allows the carer to carry the Alerta Wall Point Receiver with them as they attend to other tasks, as seen in the image below.
Can I Adjust the Alarm Volume?
Yes, when using the Alerta Wireless Receiver as part of a standalone alarm system, the alarm can be adjusted to your preference. It can be toggled between silent, low and high alarm settings, which is ideal when seeking to avoid disturbing others in the room. The volume setting can be found on the back of the receiver, as shown in the image below.
Can I Pause the Receiver's Detection Sensitivity?
Yes, this receiver features a convenient three-minute pause function in which it will not signal an alert when a sensor is triggered. This is ideal when working in the room with a patient, or when the user is expected to move through motion sensors or walk over sensor mats.
What Is the Wireless Range?
Using radio frequency technology to receive signals from Alerta wireless sensors, the Wall Point Receiver has a detection radius of us to 95 metres. The maximum range will depend on the type of building materials and number of obstructions, but should provide more than enough range for the majority of care settings.
Can I Place the Alerta Bed Alertamat Under a Mattress?
While the Alertamat may work when placed underneath thinner foam mattresses, we would recommend placing it on top of the mattress. To maintain comfort, the mat can be placed beneath a fitted sheet. This will ensure the sensor triggers the alarm immediately, avoiding the delays or false alarms that can sometimes occur when it is placed beneath a mattress.

Where Can I Place the Chair Alertamat Alarm Mat?
The Alerta Chair Sensor Mat is most effective when placed on the top surface of a chair as shown below, or concealed under a blanket for enhanced comfort. As the mat is completely wireless, it can be used with wheelchairs, allowing carers to ensure safety across multiple rooms in a care home. Placement of the mat is possible under the cushions of some chairs, providing the cushions are particularly light and thin.

Where Can I PLace the dELUXE Floor Alertamat?
The Alertamat Pressure Alarm Mat is most effective when placed directly at the bedside or in the doorway, so that any fall out of bed or attempt to wander is immediately indicated to the nursing or care staff. The moment the patient stands or falls onto the Alertamat, it will instantly activate the nurse call system or Wall Point Receiver, allowing the caregiver to quickly ascertain the patient's safety in a prompt fashion.

Where Should the Nurse Call Button Be Used?
This panic button can be used in a number of ways, and is most effective when placed in a fixed location at the patient's bedside, or when worn around the neck of the patient with the included lanyard. When placed by the patient's bedside, the call button is most effective when placed in the included wall-mountable holder, allowing it to stay in a fixed location to ensure the patient always knows where it is.

How Do I Use the Alerta Wireless Alarm Mats?
Once paired with your Alerta Wall Point Receiver (included with this bundle), the sensor mats will send a signal any time it detects that a patient has left their chair or bed. An alarm will sound directly from the receiver if used as a standalone system, or an alarm will be sent through a nurse call system if your receiver is connected to one.
Will the Wall Point Receiver Always Sound An Alarm?
For situations where your Alertamat is connected to a nurse call system, it may not be necessary for the Wall Point Receiver to sound an alarm as well. In these cases, the Wall Point Receiver can be silenced, sending an alert to the nurse call system while remaining silent in the patient's room. This is ideal in situations where an alarm may startle a patient, or if multiple patients are in the same room.
Simple Pairing System
To make use as simple as possible, the Alertamat is designed with a simple pairing system that allows the caregiver quick and easy set up in any hospital or care home scenario. The Wall Point Receiver is available with a choice of a variety of plugs to make it compatible with most nurse call systems, allowing the Alertamat to be up and running immediately.
Hygienic and Easy to Clean
As patients may be resting on top of the chair or bed Alertamat for hours at a time, ensuring quick and easy cleaning is crucial to maintain hygiene standards. To facilitate this, each matt is made with hygienic and antibacterial materials, and a smooth, easy-wipe surface for simple disinfection.
How Many Alertamats Can Be Used at Once?
When connecting your wireless Alerta products into a nurse call system, each Wall Point Receiver is able to receive signals from up to five Alertamats or Alerta alarm devices. One receiver will not interfere with another, allowing for the potential for multiple receivers to be used in a single care environment for a truly comprehensive falls and wandering prevention program.
